Hello Kitty Cape

Marley makes me laugh because she comes down the stairs with her Hello Kitty cape and purple princess shoes on pretending she can fly.  Several times she has asked me if she could fly, where should she fly to.  Then we discuss all the places she could fly to: to school or dance or to Tina's house.

The Layered Look

 Grace insisted on wearing two skirts today.  When I tried to take one off, she got pretty upset at me!  I just barley noticed the tennis ball in the picture and can't figure out where it's coming from or who threw it!

Tired Pictures

More pictures Marley took of herself, but in these, it looks like she is getting tired. Marley looks like she is trying her best to stay awake to take pictures.  I often wonder what she will think of these pictures when she is older!

Pool time in the skivvies

Marley LOVES LOVES LOVES to play in the water. A tub, the sprinklers, a real pool or a blow-up pool.  Grandma Ruth has a small inflatable pool that we filled up with water but it never really got warmed up from the sun because the shadow of the house covered it most of the day.  This meant the pool was really cold, even though it is summer!  Marley didn't care, she striped down to her undies to play in the pool anyway!

Play Time in the Park

There is a park across the street from Jerry and Ruth's house and since we are living with Jerry and Ruth until our new house stuff finalizes, we visit the park almost every night after Kevin gets home from work.

 Kevin let Marley hang from the soccer goal post. Then Grace came running over because she wanted to hang up there as well...

Grace has crazy ab strength because she is able to do toe-to-bar without any assistance!

Tracy Aviary

Grandma Ruth often takes the girls to Tracy Aviary.  Which is great because I've only been able to make it over there once and that was when Marley was about 2 1/2 years old.  I know that Marley and Grace really love going!

Sleepy-Time Jerry (one of many)

It seems as if, for Jerry, his recliner and a blaring television are the perfect sleep-aid combination!  While we are living with Jerry and Ruth until our house finalizes, we have found Jerry asleep like this on numerous occasions and can't help but laugh every time we find him sawing logs!

Wicked

I have wanted to see the play, "Wicked", for a long time (I read the book and thought it was really weird, but everyone that has seen "Wicked" said that it was worth seeing).  So Kevin got tickets for us to go see it at the Capitol Theater.  It was wonderful!  Even Kevin said he thought it was one of the best plays he had seen!  Definitely one to see again!!

Baseball in the Park

Since living with my in-laws while our new house stuff finalizes, we often go to the park that is just across the street from their home.  We had gone to a Bees minor-league baseball game a few nights ago and Marley got a pink mini-bat and a ball and wanted to go to the park to play baseball

 Even though Kevin sat rather close and tossed the baseball rather gently, Marley had trouble connecting with the baseball.  However, she had no trouble connecting her bat to Grace's forehead.  Grace was walking too close to Marley and Marley's swing was pretty wild and when the bat struck Grace, it left a little goose-egg.  Poor Grace!!!

 Grace's forehead looks awful.  So Kevin and Marley traded positions: Marley pitched the ball to Kevin instead. This is probably much safer!

Look who decided to take a nap in the park...Jerry! Not really a surprise is it? Haha!

 This was just too cute of Marley and Grandma Ruth picking dandelions together.  Marley absolutely LOVES to pick flowers (and sometimes picks flowers she shouldn't!)

Love the Shoes

Grandma Ruth has these certain dress-up play shoes that Grace LOVES to wear around the house.  I'm shocked at her ability to walk in them on the tile and wood floors because these surfaces can be so slippery.  I have even seen her run in these shoes on those floors without falling once!

Biking in the Driveway

Since we are living with Jerry and Ruth until things finalize with our new home, Marley is taking full advantage of the nice flat driveway (our "sold" house, as Marley calls it, had a driveway with a slight incline that led to a busy road) and wanting to ride her bike around the drive almost every day.  She always puts her helmut on because "safety first, mom!"

Baby Shower For Tina

Since it was my sister-in-law Tina's first baby, I wanted to throw her a baby shower.  I think doing things like this are so much fun!  My mom was nice enough to let me use her house for the shower and my mother-in-law, Ruth, let me use her fabulous chocolate fountain.

 I loved these little edible cupcake toppers.  But I noticed a few left behind some eaten cupcakes because apparently there were those who didn't realize they were edible or were too afraid to go out on that limb.

 Even though these rock-candy sticks were for decoration, Marley and Grace kept trying to eat them!

Little Miss BooBoos

In the midst of moving, Grace found a lacrosse ball that we use for "rolling" out sore muscles after cross fit. She put it down her shirt and pretended they were her "boo boos", meaning boobs.  For some reason she is obsessed with pointing at mine and trying to pull down my shirt to look and I guess she wants some of her own!!
